Which is it that they are putting more of in our food? Is it testosterone? I'm writing an argumentative paper and of course I need to do the research but I can't think of what exactly it is that they are putting in our foods which are making our kids taller, and experience puberty much more earlier. I think its testosterone but I cant be sure. If it is tes., the only thing I am coming up with in my research is positive things of subjects that are not relevant to my research. I desperately need help please :-(

Does abstinence increase testosterone levels? I need to know pleaseee? Ok, this has had conflicting information on both sides, and I also have some personal experience to integrate into the mix to at least spark up a debate in which legitimate information is presented on BOTH sides, not just pro-ejaculation (I am not religious at all, so that is not why I have choosen to abstain.
Ok, for starters, research has shown that following ejaculation, testosterone levels spike immediately after the event has transpired. I can speculate it is to replenish lost reproductive cells and initiate spermatogenesis (I believe that is the spelling). So it would seem it is helpful to do so, and also it has been correlated significantly to be lined to decreases in stress while boosting relaxation, and a decreased risk of developing prostate problems (Cancer I believe?)
On the other hand, one study of seven men (weak subject population, I know) showed that compared to a control group, these men who did not perform any self-induced or any other type of pleasurable activity of the sexual nature actually increased testosterone levels 7 days after abstaining from having any type of ejaculations. I believe the levels spiked beyond what was normal (not that significant, but it was observable.)
My argument is for the pro-side, saying that there is an increase in testosterone. I personally have been abstaining for long durations of times, about 6 months, with very few to none of those events that I hate to name. I have noticed my libido has gone skyrocketing, I cannot think about anything but girls, I am really motivated to talk to them, and I am completely distracted by them and can't help but check out girls everywhere. That is the complete opposite of my personality, I never used to be like that (I just turned 20, and during my teen years I was never like that). I started some med that made me lose interest in sex and related activities, and then my libido started going in extreme overdrive. I also found myself becoming really aggressive and moody, and I was prone to rough housing with my friends, arguing and being generally boisterous. This isn't like me at all, and I know its not from the meds because they are not correlated with any of that (chronic pain meds). I also felt myself becoming stronger (may have been perceptually false, placebo effect kind of thing). I just want to know why I can't stop checking out girls and feel so motivated to socialize and stuff, I hate it and want to go back to normal.
Anyways, I was wondering if I get could get some actually studies or reputable sources results. I would do it myself but I have been having difficulty and it is hard to find any website except for the pro-ejaculation side or then the ultra-conservative abstinence advocate side. Any links to studies or even better study results would be helpful. I think I also have seen my hairline receding a bit, so that freaked me out also and I know that is linked to increased male hormone. Please help me out people, I owe you big time. Thanks for reading! :).

I have high testosterone, it's NOT related to PCOS. I just want info on the best way to control it...? I have been through a series of tests... blood work, ultra sounds, cat scans.... You name I have probably done it and still going through different things with my Dr.
I have been doing a little side arm research, so I can go in with solid questions. Like Should there be cause for concern with High Testosterone linked to Breast Cancer? Is Estrogen Replacement Therapy an Option for myself vs. Birth Control?
What other forms of facial hair growth control are there, besides laser hair removal, electrolysis, and SHAVING. Most woman I know that have this problem, unfortunately shave because insurance won't cover the others.
Sad if you ask me because this is a real hairy issue... In all sense of the word!
If someone out there has any more knowledge on this subject let me know what you think. Thanks
sokokl replied: "There is another condition that can cause high testosterone levels as well although it has some symptoms similar to PCOS. The condition is called non-classic adrenal hyperplasia. The high testosterone levels for this condition comes from the adrenal glands not the ovaries like it would with PCOS.
I would recommend checking with your doctor about doing bloodwork to check your adrenal glands to see if that could be a factor.
The other thing that can be done for excess hair growth besides the laser hair removal, electrolysis, and shaving is also waxing such as a Brazilian wax (I've met some women who do this but don't know if insurance will cover it). There's also a cream that can slow excess hair growth down. It's called Vaniqa.
I have considered it myself for my excess hair growth due to PCOS and my insurance would cover it but the doctor would need pre-authorization for me to have it.
Addition to answer: In relation to the ERT it is not standard treatment for PCOS because of the fact that estrogen levels being too low are not the only problem that many women with PCOS have, especially if they are having issues with trying to conceive. A number of the women who have problems with conceiving due to this condition also have issues with progesterone levels often being low.
The reason that the combination birth control pill is used is because it helps balance out both the estrogen and progesterone levels (especially for those that are not trying to conceive at this time)."

Women are more sexually selfish than men? 1.Are there women who desire men just as men desire them?
2.Are there women who give an equal amount of foreplay?
3.Are there women who give as much pleasure as they take and bring their men to multiple orgasms through tantra or oral?
4.Are there women who don't put their pleasure first? It seems women get to relax and let go while men have to worry about their woman.
5.Are there women who initiate sex as much as their man initiates?
6.Are there women who do as much work during sex as the man? Do they work even when a man is on top the way a man would work when a woman is on top?
7.Are there women who fulfill their men's fantasies just as much as he fulfills theirs?
8.Are there women who don't use sex as a control mechanism?
Men are more selfless and proactive. Women are selfish and reactive.
"As much as I would like to disagree with you I have to admit this is a mostly accurate statement, I'm sure there are women out there who are not so selfish....and maybe that comes with age I'm only 25 so I'm not quite seasoned yet. But from my experience this is fairly true"

Certainly women are very sexual and have the capacity to be even more sexual than men, but one possibility is that instead of it being a go-out-there-and-get-it kind of sexuality, it’s more of a reactive process. If you have this dyad, and one part is pumped full of testosterone, is more interested in risk taking, is probably more aggressive, you’ve got a very strong motivational force. It wouldn’t make sense to have another similar force. You need something complementary. And I’ve often thought that there is something really powerful for women’s sexuality about being desired. That receptivity element. At some point I’d love to do a study that would look at that.”"

Still on the subject of narcissism, she talked about research indicating that, in comparison with men, women’s erotic fantasies center less on giving pleasure and more on getting it. “When it comes to desire,” she added, “women may be far less relational than men.”"
I know some people will justify that type of selfishness with gender differences but its the equivalent of saying its ok for men to be takers because women are givers.

Im thinking about Steroids... And It Hit Me! Peanut Allergy?!?!? Now there are a lot of people out there who are allergic to peanuts. So when I was doing some research it said that people who have peanut allergy should not take steroids such as Sustanon, Testosterone Cypionate/Propionate. But it said that Testosterone Enanthate had some other type of oil instead of peanut oil. My question is what do people who have nut allergy take when taking steroids. And Does Testosterone Enanthate also have peanut oil if there is someone who knows this!~

Gilbert's Syndrome & Acne? Interesting this, i'm linking some factors surrounding Gilbert's Syndrome & Acne. Here's a quote from an in dependant source...
Acne - A recent study shows that a diet high enough in sugars triggers the liver to convert these sugars into lipid; as a side-effect this stops production of Sex hormone binding globulin, a chemical that reduces the level of testosterone in the blood. Since high testosterone levels generally trigger acne, the researchers believe this can be a cause.
Gilbert's Syndrome - globulin, Not enough research yet, but that word comes to mind for people that suffer the so called non-disease.
Anyone share some light on the subject please?

With stem cells, could it be possible to get a woman pregnant without second party sperm? (long)? Please, if you're against stem cell research and aren't willing to contribute actual information and keep your thoughts to yourself, don't answer. I am not afraid to, and will, report you for venting, ranting or using hate speech (which is covered by rules and regulations). Try to report me, and I'll just post this warning as proof that I gave a warning. Contributing thoughts ONLY.
To my understanding, stem cells are basically blank slabs that can turn into any specialized cell with certain manipulations applied.
If, while altering the stem cell into a specialized cell from a female, you injected or infused a synthetic analog of testosterone (and whatever chemicals needed), would it be possible for a stem cell to transform into a fully functional sperm cell even if the cell was originally from a woman?
Then, could you in turn implant that cell into a ovum of the very same female and thus create a fetus and later an infant?
I mean, it would have two halves of the same DNA of the mother so it would, by my understanding, create another whole and a technical clone. The child would be a clone of the mother since it doesn't have second party DNA to alter it, right?
I'm sorry it was so long but any feed back would be appreciated. And sorry for the warning but I really would like an answer to this and I don't want it reported because of people's grudges against the subject.
Thank you.
Stem cells can now be grown and transformed into specialized cells with characteristics consistent with cells of various tissues such as muscles or nerves through cell culture. Highly plastic adult stem cells from a variety of sources, including umbilical cord blood and bone marrow, are routinely used in medical therapies. Embryonic cell lines and autologous embryonic stem cells generated through therapeutic cloning have also been proposed as promising candidates for future therapies.
Baintz:
You couldn't just add two strands of complete DNA. You can't have duplicates or else that would cause defects too. Incest is a good example of this since siblings share similar DNA.
So... what if you could extract one half of the DNA from some other random cell from the host and add it to the artificial sperm cell so that it completes the other half of the DNA?
Does that make sense to anyone else but me...?
also, you couldn't just inject DNA into the ovum. There are certain things that make up a sperm cell that help create a zygote. It's not just the DNA that does the work.
It's only a theory. It's not like I'm some geneticist trying to get reviews on an idea. It's purely hypothetical. It was just a random thought I had and I wanted to see if anyone else thought it might work.
And the main reason why people are against it is because of their ignorance and belief that the only way to get stem cells is from an aborted fetus which isn't true. It IS a source but it is definitely not the only source. As for curing cancer and things. I honestly think that the government has a lot of cures that they keep from the public so they can suck the money out of us but who knows? I'm not a conspiracy person or anything but that's how our government is like if you step back and look *shrug*. I think more research should be done anyways.
k replied: "no it would not be possible because stem cells derive from another organism
you can't magically create them...."
POKO! replied: "i think that's what they say, but that would be the worst thing ever.
playing god like that is cheating. It probably would be illegal, just like cloning."
Michelle S replied: "I don't think it's possible to use a "stem cell created sperm" to fertilize an egg from the same person who donated to stem cell to begin with. I would think, based on the biology classes I've taken, that having the same DNA in both the egg and the created sperm would cause problems. Although, research has made a lot of advances since I was in college."
Baintz replied: "I don't honestly know too much about the subject but I did want to get my opinion out there.
My understanding is that stem cells can be altered into virtually any cell, providing the 'materials' etc etc are right for this transformation.
The best way to do this (correct me if I'm wrong) would be to place this stem cell beside a fully function cell (IE the sperm) to duplicate it's behavior and characteristics.
If, like you have suggested, there is a way to introduce the half DNA and duplicate a sperm cell with this DNA having come from the host (a woman), I do not think that this DNA would complete the 'other half' a natural sperm would otherwise do.
It may also have 'defects' and such.
So your best bet would be to create the sperm by duplicating the stem cell from the raw products, a redundant thing to do if you are able to use the raw product fairly easy anyway ^^
If we were looking towards making a sperm with the DNA of the female donor, then it would make sense to bypass this process and simply insert the whole DNA strands into the ova to create a clone. Same product, less 'complicated'."
¨°º¤ø„¸COOPS¸„ø¤º°¨ due 09/18/09 replied: "first of all, why would anyone be against stem cell research? it's a great thing, and i totally want to donate my cord blood when my baby is born...
but wouldn't it be cheaper to inject the ovum with just regular sperm? why work on cloning if we haven't found the cure for cancer, heart disease and diabetes? we should save the stem cells for that..."
