whats the best lotion for some one on accutane? Im on accutane and I am washing my face with cetaphil. Afterwards though, what kind of lotion can i use?

Big Bow shob replied: "Cetaphil also makes a dail facial moisturizer. The bottle comes in a little box so look hard for it. It wont clog your poors or help feed acne. I have taken accutane and this is the best I have found that doesnt make your face look all dry and doesnt promote cne growth."

I honest to GOD consider it a full~fledged miracle and im not exaggerating!!! So unless you have severe problems with it just push through and in the end hopefully it will all be worth it for you!!! Also, for me i got severely bad depression when i was on it. you need to be aware of this. i knew the whole time that it was the medicine that was doing it to me so i saw through it if you know what i mean. What's the Best Face Lotion to Use while on Accutane? This is my second time on Accutane and it's only been a week and my face is more dry than I remember it being last time. Any suggestions for a good facial moisturizer? One that actually works but doesn't leave you greasy looking for the day time? It cannot have any salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it because of the accutane. Yes I've taken everything out there before accutane, all the antibiotics, Spironolactone, Prednisone, topicals, etc.

kyle_s077 replied: "ok i took accutane twice.. in my opinion you should just stop taking it or not take it for a long period of time. looking back i would have rather delt with the acne at the time. even after you're done taking it, it will cause your face to be dried out a lot and your lips will get severely chapped at times. my lips are still chapped and i took it years ago. only take this if you need to. by the way thank you for your answer on my problem. im having the same symptoms as yours. i was wondering if you could email me and tell me what the kidney stones were like and what your symptoms were exactly.. my email is thanks."

Mariya F replied: "I've never been on accutane, so I cannot offer you any advice. However, I was wondering why u were put on accutane? Did your doctor by any chance speak to you about hormonal options, such as estrogen ( birth control) pill or androgen blockers? The side effects most people experience from these is far less traumatic than those produced by accutane. Most docs dont have time to spend thinking about this, which is why it took mine 10 years to figure out I didnt need acne medicine, but just androgen suppressants. Good luck."

What lotion is the best to use while on Accutane? Neutrogena? Clean & Clear? Any expensive stuff? I can't use anything with salicylic acid in it or benzol peroxide. Thanks!

what lotion is best to prevent skin peeling from Accutane? so i just started taking accutane for my acne and my skin is already peeling and just wanted to see if anyone out there has any suggestions or if anyone used a specific one that helped them alot... thank you!!!

Andie replied: "I am on my last month of accutane and I am so happy with the results. My skin has been painfully dry though. With accutane you can put anything on your face and it will not make you break out. I suggest an oil or vaseline based lotion. Aquaphor is good for severe dryness, but is better at night because you will be shinny. I used shea butter on my face at night during the winter. Jojoba oil is a good inexpensive facial moisturizer. For a day lotion I used Purpose, but this often was not enough to combat all the flakiness. Pick a product that is formulated for dry skin, not acne prone skin. I would suggest that you carry chapstick or vaseline with you at all times. Your lips will most likely crack."

How well does Citaphil lotion help dry skin while on Accutane? did it work? ( Citaphil daily moisturizer spf 15.) thanks a little more detail please....?

Angel replied: "yes. i was on accutane last year. i found this neutrogena lotion that worked great. it was an spf 80. and it moisturized really well. i recommend it. but any lotion works. just steer away from alcohol. it will burn your skin."

what face lotion do you reccomend for dry skin from using accutane?&reviews plz!? okay so i just started accutane about a week ago and i have had more breakouts and my skin is so dry and burns like no other!its horrible.seriously.and every ones review about it is making me nervous to be on it but ive heard good reviews too. but i hope all this annoying stuff will be worth it in the end!help!and dont scare me lol please.id rather hear from people who have taken it!thankS(:

chef1959 replied: "I'm a firm believer that diet plays a big part for acne. Here's some tips I believe in that you can take into consideration or do your own research on it. It's natural, painful, & effective. Ask your doctor if you should take zinc vitamins. Usually when there's acne; there's zinc deficiency. Ask about Omega 3 fish oil supplements - they help control acne breakouts. Ask your doctor about maybe using tea tree oil. Tea tree oil helps treat acne. Food- - Eat a serving daily of almonds(20), or sunflower seeds (1/4 cup), or walnuts(14 halves) they have zinc. -Sugar. Cut the sugar out of your diet. I used to have monthly flare-ups of blemishes. The remedy that worked best for me was to give up sugar. No aspartame either... (Also avoid greasy oily foods like fast food or deep fried) -Make sure you make your own fresh fruit juices. Make fresh veggie juices too.These juices help clear up the pores. They're great antioxidants. -Drink green tea 2-3xs a day. -Drink lots of water (8-10 glasses) to flush out the toxins Whatever you do...Don't pop your pimples and all should work out. Can anyone suggest the best lotions and chapstick to use while on Accutane? Im about to start on Accutane next month and I was just wondering if anyone who has been on Accutane, could suggest to me, the best types of lotion and chapstick to use while on it? And also anything else you think could be helpful for me to know while I am taking it.

EBaert replied: "I would suggest Carmex for your lips,.... nothing else really works well for me. As for lotion, make sure you get something for sensitive skin and that is unscented. None of the Bath and Bodyworks stuff, that will just make your skin worse. The same for body wash. I use Dove for sensitive skin. Along with these things, I would suggest you get a good facial moisturizer. Aveeno Positively Radiant is good, as are many others. Good luck with the Accutane, it's worked very well for me! : )"
