How come there's so much caffeine in Starbucks coffee? Like a regular Coke has like 50 mg caffeine and a Starbucks large coffee has like, ten times the amount. For awhile, I was completely addicted. Are there other iced or canned coffees that has half as much caffeine, that I can try?

Veronica B replied: "Well you can ask at a starbucks if they have a lowfat kind....."

m t replied: "What if you did half regular half decaf?"

TX2step replied: "get espresso (or latte or cappucino) .... the more you roast coffee beans, the less caffeine it has......(and don't get any mocha drinks, because chocolate has alot of caffeine too)"

pokerjoev replied: "Most people like the high caffeine."

jell w replied: "idk, me and my cousin couldnt sleep at ight so stayed up till 8 in the morning went to starbucks had a vanilla bean frauppiccino, and stayed up all day untile like 11 pm and crashed lol!"

izick20110 replied: "You can ask for a half-caf iced coffee or a half-caf iced Americano if the Starbucks you go to doesn't have decaf iced coffee. There is also the half-calf or decaf Starbucks Doubleshot on Ice (+Energry if you want decaf coffee and still want non-coffee based energy) BTW: Vanilla Bean Frappuccinos don't have any caffeine."

Caffeine from Starbucks - A recommendation for a coffee hater? I need to stay up tonight to finish a deadline! I'm so tired at the moment, I could fall asleep. I hate coffee, but I'm thinking about going down the street to Starbucks to get a coffee drinks, something with tons of caffeine. Can anyone recommend a drink that has a low coffee taste, but that will wake me up? Thanks!

babysisterchrissy replied: "the more milk the better, try a vanilla latte with extra syrup or a caramel macchiato."

Jaycie replied: "Tea"

sticky_feijoa replied: "They do a wicked nice caramel frappucino. Ask for a double shot. It's really sweet and not too coffee-esque. If you don't like coffee try a red bull or go to a pharmacy and get some caffeine pills like No-doz. Good luck with the deadline."

Ambivalence replied: "Well, there's chai tea. It's not quite as caffienated, but it's sugary and good and completely coffee free."

austin c replied: "starbucks coffee has a strong, burnt nasty taste!it has been voted low on a recent taste test byconsumer reports, dunkin donuts and mcdonalds new improved coffee blend were actually rated higher-both are more mellow and not as harsh as starbucks.starbucks ,if u have no other alternative-then order a large latte with 3 shots of espresso.the milk will mellow the coffee taste a bit.if theres a mickey d's or dunkins-go there instead-dunkins is truly delightful!starbucks is like bitter medicine!"

buggerhead replied: "If you want good tasting coffee, skip Starbucks. McDonalds has the best coffee. They now have "specialty" coffees too, like mocha (least coffee like - its hot chocolate w/ coffee in it pretty buch) or latte (coffee diluted with steamed milk - if you use soy you get a little sweet without all the sugar."

swissrmeman replied: "Why not try an alternative? Like redbull, or some other energy drink. But go with the sugar free kinds. That way, you dont get the let down once the sugar wears off. There is something here in MI called "5 Hour Energy". It comes in a small bottle. Look it up online at 5hourenegy.com. There is no sugar let down, has tons of vitamin b, niacin, and some caffeine. Works great for me. Coffee is ok, but there is some crash. If you go with a coffee drink, make sure it has sugar free syrup. You dont want the sugar crash there either. Good luck! PS. Espresso does not have more caffeine than regular coffee. the water does not contact the coffee long enough to get that much caffeine. Go with regular coffee. McD's coffee and Dunk. Don. coffee SUCKS."

Lucy Sullivan replied: "dude, you're going to a coffee house...i think if you want a coffee drink that will wake you up, it's gonna taste like coffee. but if you need to wake up and can suck up the coffee taste, get an iced caramel machiatto with an extra shot of espresso. those things are awesome. or you could try the chai tea. i like chai green tea."

robby_anna replied: "tea. as long as its black, it has caffeine in it. or drink lots of water or herbal tea (something with lemon or fruit- makes you wake up without the caffeine)"

Big K replied: "Any of the energy drinks will do the trick. Try to select one with caffeine below 100 mg per serving anything more is too much."

manisocute replied: "a ginseng pill, orange juice and a b12 pill, you'll be wired"

biologynerd19 replied: "Try hot tea or hot cocoa/hot chocolate. Or try a coffee with a flavor that you will like: vanilla, caramel, peppermint. The frappachinos are like icies almost: and something like the green tea frappachino will not taste like coffee. Coffee, tea, some sodas (coke, pepsi, mountain dew) and chocolate all contain caffeine, so you might be able to find some candy bars to keep you up, or brew some strong hot tea or cold soda and they'll prop your eyelids right up"

Does decreasing the amount of caffeine in a Starbucks drink affect the flavor? Does decreasing the amount of caffeine in a Starbucks drink, such as their Mocha Frappucino, affect the flavor? Also, does anybody know if the Light Mocha Frappucino and the regular Mocha Frappucino taste the same?

silvir00 replied: "as far as caffeine is concerned it shouldn't change the taste. Light means it is made with a lower fat milk or cream and that can change the taste. If you are worried about calories and caffeine get a plain decaf Coffee with skim milk."

towanda replied: "I have a bad heart and have to drink decaf now. I think the flavor is a little less but with all the other stuff in the coffee in those drinks, I don't think it matters a bit. It's when you cut down the fat that you really notice. . ."

AnimeLvr replied: "1. yes.....decreasing the amount of caffine will change the taste.....at least to me 2. no they dont taste the same"

stumble123stick replied: "with Mermaid Pee it wont matter becfause you cant taste the coffee in with all the soy-chai-hazelnut-light-skinny-halfcaf-double de-caf crapola that they make. Go to a small local coffee shop and get a good cup and keep your money in your home state."

donzkee replied: "It depends on every individual...The amount of caffeine that is right for you also varies by the individual...but more often than not it doesn't affect the taste not unless you're a coffee expert when it comes to the taste. "

TressaMay replied: "No, when you decrease the caffeine (in anything, lattes, iced lattes, coffee, and iced coffee) it does not change the flavor. A lot of people think it does, but it doesn't. And you can't ask for a decaffeinated Mocha Frappucino. Starbucks doesn't make them, unless you ask for the Cream base instead of the Coffee base, and that DOES change the flavor. And the Frappucino Lights DO taste different, and they're a LOT better for you, but you can still ask for whipped cream on them if that's what you're missing."

No Caffeine or Caffeine free drinks at Starbucks? Can someone provide me with a list of the caffeine free drinks and flavors at Starbucks? Thanks!

bark replied: "any coffee drinks can be made with decaf."

triciawin87 replied: "carmel apple cider is amazing!!"

Kerri W replied: "I know any of the creme based drinks are caffeine free and most of the others can be made decaf."

lildude211us replied: "here is all the ones off the top of my head Hot drinks: hot chocolate, white hot chocolate, Dulce de leche creme, cinnamon dolce creme, chai tea latte, pumpkin spice latte cold drinks: iced tea (many kinds) passion tea lemonade, vanilla bean frappuccino As long as the drink doesnt have espresso in it, then it probably doesnt have caffeine."

How much caffeine is in a frap from Starbucks? Is caffeine in a venti sized mocha frap from Starbucks equal to one coke? Two cokes?

DW replied: "165mg, which is a lot more than a coke. Most varieties of Coke have 23mg per 8oz, which means 34.5mg or 46mg for the sizes they actually sell."

Does a strawberries and creme frappuccino from Starbucks have caffeine in it? I'm pregnant and don't want to drink it if it has caffeine

Rae replied: "Yes. They are made with espresso."

misslabeled replied: "You can request decaf for any of their drinks."

I have to pull an all-nighter, totalling at least 40 hours. Which Starbucks coffee has the most caffeine? I'm waking up at 5:30am on 11/8 and i have to pull an all-nighter so i can get some work done for my comp programming class. I wont be able to get back to sleep until at the earliest, 10:00pm on 11/9. Which starbucks coffee has the most caffeine and would be best to keep me up overnight?

Robyn M replied: "umm i think the americano has the most. all it is is water and i think three shots of expresso and you can add sugar to it. you might have to tell them how many shots you want but i would think that has the most since it is straight expresso. also it is tasty i love it."

t123 replied: "try buying no dose instead or just get a plain shot of coffee (nothing else mixed in just straight coffee) just ask them for the stongest the got, guarenteed to wake you up"

drumzgirly25 replied: "Actually the best thing you can do is drink tea. Thats right! Make sure it is green, black, white, or yerba mate tea though. These are the ones with caffeine in them. So, you will get the caffeine you need and all the health benefits. If you have to have coffee. Buy "light" coffee. It has the most caffeine because the beans were roasted the shortest amount of time. Thus leaving the most caffeine. For good tea try"

Blondie replied: "Okay I am the queen of all nighters!! Take expresso shots straight. Each shot is equivalent to two cups of coffee and if they are not waterred down they will hit your senses faster. Now I think taking them on an empty stomach heightens the effect, but it leaves a lot of people shaky so eat high protein foods like eggs cottage cheese nuts. Good luck college does this to ya, but believe me it will be worth it in the end."

brittany r replied: "you shouldnt drink coffee for energy....or sugar or caffiene you need to eat protien (Peanuts, eggs, chicken)"

jfl replied: "Double strength expresso"

MJ replied: "Every time you drink heavy doses of caffeine, you will crash even harder. Take a jump rope, run in place for two minutes, etc to help with the fatigue. I used to be a coffe addict and it ended badly one day when I just fell out and couldn't wake up for a day."

Terry T replied: "Check the type of coffee used in the drink. Select one with Robusta Beans. They have more caffeine than do Arabica beans."

~ Corleone ~ replied: "Double shot of espresso!"

Does anyone know how many mg of caffeine is in the Costco (Starbucks brewed) whole bean coffee bag they sell? I am pregnant and am trying to watch how much caffeine I drink and drink a cup every morning of this Costco coffee brand....it says on the bag though that the beans are roasted thru Starbucks. The bag is a bright green. It has no nutritional value on the bag, so I am clueless.....Please help!

Ann K replied: "It totally depends on how strong you brew the coffee, and how much of it you drink. 8 ounces? 16 ounces? You can guesstimate about 250 mg of caffeine per cup, but it's tough to say."

Amount of Caffeine in Starbucks Black Tazo Awake Tea? Amount in Tazo Awake Tea and also the other various kinds of Tea they have at Starbucks....Thanks for the help

margarita replied: "You can go to the Starbucks website or Tazo website to find that information. Also, if you are concerned about caffeine you can always toss out the fist brew and reuse the tea bag. You will have a less caffeinated cup of tea!"

plushy_bear replied: "The website doesn't really give it, but this did (the headers show the order of your caffeine amounts: Short(8 oz) Tall (12 oz) Grande(16 oz) Venti(20-24 oz) Tazo Black Tea Latte 50 75 100 125 Tazo Chai Tea Latte 50 75 100 120 Tazo Green Tea Latte 30 55 80 110 Tazo Red Tea Latte 0 0 0 0"
