Trileptal for depression/OCD? My new doctor prescribed Trileptal for depression. My understanding is this is an epilepsy drug sometimes prescribed for manic depression? Has anyone heard of using it for regular depression or for OCD? Thanks.

thumbalinapink replied: "i was on this for a long time... its like vicodin... I abused it and had to go to rehab....be carefull"

Judi replied: "Yes it is a derivative of valproic acid or Epival. Which is used for treating epilepsy and bipolar disorder. It also helps to control my daughters Tourettes. Tourettes is strongly related to OCD and OCD is one of the traits. I know that in her situation it does control her tics, hers sensory issues and OCD that are all part of her tourettes. So though I have not heard of it being used to treat depression, it could certainly be used to treat OCD. It could turn out to be an excellent medicating for you. Just a quick word of advice. Watch what you eat, like many of these medications, they can cause weight gain. OH and it is NOT addictive, habit forming or anything like that!!!"

Trileptal? I recently was prescribed this to stabilize my mood... I'm bipolar. Just curious if anyone has ever tried it, and if so, was it effective. Were there any side effects... weight gain/loss, were you tired more or have more energy, etc. And does it help with the depression too or just the manic episodes? Serious answers only please...

TweetyBird replied: "Oxcarbazepine (Trileptal) can be effective if it's the right med for you. It doesn't work for everyone but give it a chance. The dosage is titrated slowly until it's in a therapeutic range and this helps to prevent adverse effects. As far as adverse effects the most common are fatigue, headache, dizziness, somnolence, ataxia, abnormal gait, tremor, vertigo, nystagmus, diplopia, abnormal vision, nausea, vomiting, URI and abdominal pain. A less common adverse is weight gain. It has less weight gain than some others meds used for biploar disorder. Trileptal is used as a mood stabilizer in bipolar, so it should help to even out your moods and prevent the swings. If you ever have questions about any medications you've been prescribed, direct your questions to the prescriber while you are still face to face. Ask about adverse effects and what to expect from the med."

Anxiety or Depression, confused? Help!!? Okay, I am not sure how to describe this properly but here goes my best explanation. There are two issues I am having. 1) I have had this since I was young, I was sick with a high fever and developed this shortly after (around the age of 8). I have visions and see images when I lay down or when I close my eyes for too long. It feels as if I am dreaming while I am awake. To the point I will just want to go crazy. 2) (right now this is the main issue/concern) I had a dream about 2 weeks ago, it was very wierd, it was of a cloaked person figure, no face. It reminded me of the "grim reaper". It followed me wherever I went in my dream and it stayed in a tree the whole time, it mainly stayed outside of my house and wouldn't go away, now I have been very scared of everything, I feel as if something is out to get me. I am always tense where it feels like my muscles wont loosen up, kind of the feeling where you are very cold and shiver. Also, the worse part is the feeling of always being dizzy. If you bend over and your head is down and you raise up very quickly you get that sudden dizziness feeling, thats what I feel like 24/7, its horrible and i always feel like I am going to throw up, I have been using dramamine and meclizine prescription because my doctor said its vertigo but I don't understand how it can be. I have been on medication for 4 years now and I still have yet been able to find the right one to work. I have always had this problem but its getting worse and it's really hard to cope with it now. The problem I was diagnosed with is bi-polar and anxiety. I was reading online and supposedly it could be manic depression?? I am currently on the following medication : Trileptal(oxcarbazepine) Fluvoxamine Lamotrigidine(Lamictal) Zolpidem(Ambien) I have Insomnia to the point I will just lay for hours and for some reason it is hard to fall asleep. Any help would be great :)

Christopher B replied: "Theres no way its manic depression (bipolar), sounds like a thought disorder"

Stina replied: "Okay, the first thing I thought of was a possession. Now please don't think I am crazy for thinking this and please don't get scared, but it sounds like it. I am no expert on these things, but I am Catholic so i do believe these things happen. If you want, you should try researching that kind of stuff, just to how similar this is from the real thing. If they are very similar than go to a priest asap, and tell him about it! You said, that you have been taking medicine and it isn't helping, so maybe a priest might actually help you. If I were you, I would give it a try! The science world never thinks of this stuff because they feel they could explain it and control it while there are some things that humans just can't control! Sorry about my rant, but its possible! Take care and I hope you get better...God Bless! :)"

Wendy replied: "Have you been to the doctor recently and told him exactly how bad this is for you? Sometimes in my experience you have to be very pushy with some doctors to get the point across. At first to me it sounded like you may be having panic attacks but since you said it is 24/7 I sorta doubt that, I mean it is possible but vertigo seems to be a better fit for a diagnosis, though I am no doctor. Sometimes it takes years to find the right med combo for you as the meds are not an one size fits all deal. Just try to be open minded about trying new meds and really make sure the doctor understands how bad it is for you, maybe then they will find something that will help. Good luck"

Tonya replied: "When you said you get dizzy...well that to me points to the medication. You could be taking to high of a dose or even be allergic to the meds. I'd talk to your doctor about that and if they don't want to take that into account I'd talk to another doctor for a second opinion. If you are on medication for the bipolar disorder (which BTW manic depression and bipolar disorder are the same thing) you should be getting some relief. That is the main reason to take the medication. Again talk with your doctor. And finally, anxiety can make things worse...which could also be the reason behind the dizziness. Feeling dizzy is one sign of panic attacks...you have to have other symptoms but you could look this up to see if it fits. If you are having panic attacks (a form of anxiety) try breathing exercises and/or meditation. Remind yourself that you WILL be ok. Nothing bad can/will happen. Look up distress tolerance skills online for more things that might help. Good Luck and I hope I've helped a little."

Amin K replied: "The term bipolar disorder is the new name for manic depression. It sounds as if your medications need to be adjusted by your psychiatrist. Tell your psychiatrist what has been happening and your psychiatrist may feel that your medications do need to be changed just slightly. It is not uncommon that your medications need to be changed. Physiologically your bodily systems change and this will lead to the situation you might be in. Have you been diagnosed with anxiety? If so this might have something to do with all the happenings of the past two weeks. Don't be afraid to ask for help from your psychiatrist. You are paying him to help you and he is not going to be able to help you unless you are very frank with him or her so that they will be able to eliminate the feelings you are currenting having. Don't give up."

Why are so many antidepressants anticonvulsants? So far in my life of bipolar/manic/depression I've taken a number of medications for it. I've come to realize most of these are actually anticonvulsants (topamax, trileptal, lexapro, etc), and not specified for depression at all. I was wondering why this was, and why that specific type of medication was so widely used instead?

Kaykay H replied: "perhaos, the anticonvulsants led to less acts of depression, and reulting suicide attempts and slef- harm tendencies"

salmonbellies16 replied: "depression among young people if not a epedemic now soon will become one . this is the legacy that the genius generations knowen as the baby boomers have left . i happen to be over 60 years old . think i missed the baby boomer tag . the anti convukvant factor is to control nrvous gag reflux disorder . todays anti-depressents are out dated . not only will depression become a epidemic . one already is amongst young people , diabetes , has hit epedemic proprtions with very littls waening signs that are easily ignored . years ago diabeties , bad diet . now it is stress . constant physical chekups are needed . good luck to you . time will make a differnce , you are suffering for another generations mistake , greed . hang in there do not give up . you are doing great so far"

doricgirl replied: "For some reason a lot of anticonvulsants also have a mood stabilising effect and are often used in treating bipolar to try and control mood swings rather than antidepressants which are aimed at raising your mood and can make some people manic if they are bipolar. A lot of medications are used for an 'off label' use, for example, some types of the pill can be used to treat acne."

barber56 replied: "bi-polar illness is when your brain doesn't work quit right it will. It can make you think your the smartest person in the world and there is nothing u can't do. Then in a blink of an eye your so depressed your sure your going to die, and you can't remember when u felt good, they give u an anticonvulsant to help level out your brain chemistry. to keep ur moods sort of on line instead of like a roller coaster. They give the anti-depressant to help you not feel so depressed. And I have found that if these don't work they will keep on adding different things until something works. I also found out that manic-depressant illness can destroy brain cells, and if left untreated can lead to altimers and dementia. also this illness never goes away, if you don't take your meds you'll become sick again, or maybe self medicate with alcholl or drugs, which just makes every thing even worse. How long have you been bi-polar?"

Do you take Trileptal and/or Cymbalta? I've recentaly been taken off of Lexapro (30 mg daily) since I am going into a depression. The doctor increased my Trileptal from 150 mg daily to 300 mg daily along with 60 mg Cymbalta. This does not seem to be working as well as I would like. Has anyone had luck with this combination? I've notice that since my ECT treatments (many years ago) my memory is not the same and when on medications my concentration is shot. I've tried Straterra with no luck and the doctor is hesitant about putting me on Adderall or Ritalin for fear it would start a big time manic episode. Has this happened to anyone? I am starting to feel desperate, crying a lot, sleeping all the time, and screwing up at work. I need help and suggestions.

Devon replied: "My main diagnosis is major depression. I have taken Cymbalta for several months. I am on 120 mg at bedtime, it works great for me. I have had three or four ECT treatments over four years ago. I don't have any challenges now, at the time I was foggy. I also have restless body syndrome. I take a sleeping pill and one to keep me from moving so much. Is your Doctor who is working with your meds a psychiatrist? My doctors have turned all my meds over to him. Do you see a counselor? Do you have someone that you can talk to? I talk to my counselor every week. I don't see her because of distance. If I need to, I do. The hospital psy. unit I was in has a 24/7 line. I have called it many times. In the middle of the night I need to know there is someone out there. Feel free to e-mail. I am having foot surgery on Wednesday, so not sure when I will be back to get messages."

Kathryn R replied: "I've taken cymbalta for the past 18 months and it's the only anti-depressant that seems to work for me. Just the last few months my doctor has increase it to 100 mgs. I also take buspur 60 mgs 15 in the morning 15 in the afternoon and 60 at night. It takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the medicine to really start working. I know that it feels like forever when you want to feel better today, but you have to give it sometime. I've fought depression for 42 years so I know what you're going through. It took my a long time to find something that really worked for me. I hope that you find something that works for you soon and I'll keep you in my thoughts."

cdeafiem replied: "I take 60 mg of Cymbalta every evening, around dinner time. It works for me, and I've been taking it since December."

Is Adderall suitable for treating depression, and how can I coax my doctor to put me on it? I had been on Zoloft and Trileptal, but I got a deadly electrolyte imbalance. Also, along w/ the electrolyte/salt imbalance i went nuts. I was EXTREMELY paranoid as well. I deleted some friends from my facebook and was afraid kids at school were plotting against me. I accused my mother of trying to poison me (which was not true)! My psychiatrist (who falls asleep when i talk to him and has a smelly, moldy office) said it was a "manic episode" and put me on lithium. My school psychiatrist and neurologist said just stay away from those meds, b/c i had a bad reaction to them (and this episode would not have occurred under natural conditions). Also, the school psychiatrist thought the other psychiatrist was a moron for saying i had a "manic episode" caused by bipolar disorder. btw: i am getting a new psychiatrist. The neurologist said years ago that i probably have ADD as well (i have always had a "listening problem" and i can never complete anything i start). I also have tics, which i have been taking Haldol for for almost 10 years. i have always had trouble losing weight, no matter how healthy/much i eat or how much i exercise. To make matters worse, the lithium has caused me to gain like 15 lbs, and i am totally disgusted by that. My $200 juicy couture pinstripe jeans don't even fit over my blubbery thighs anymore! I am only 17 years old, and i am a size 8 (and only 5'4). I want to look cute and sexii, but i feel i cant b/c of my size. I have been told (by a doctor and a few other ppl) that i probably have insulin resistance (and lithium causes that too). Nevertheless, if i cut my portion size not only will i probably not lose too much weight, but my metabolism will slow down; therefore i want the doctor to perscribe me Adderall. I can never concentrate on school work anyways, and all i do is goof off on facebook and the internet when i get home. In school, when we are asked to start classwork all i do is chit chat w/ other ppl or daydream. I heard it also helps depression, but i am afraid to go on it b/c of what happened w/ the other medications. Also, i have tics so i dunno if the Adderall will exacerbate that. Ultimately, the weight loss caused by Adderall will make me feel better about myself and that wil help cure my depression in itself (cuz i OBSESS over my weight). How the hell can i persuade my new psychiatrist to put me on this miracle amphedamine drug? oh... btw: i have NEVER been pregnant or anything. other girls at school eat soo much more than i do (and they eat gigantic bolognea sandwiches on white bread w/ 3 greasy cookies) while i am eating salad w/ fat free macrobiotic dressing covered w/ chickpeas.

Tobin G replied: "*remember this is only my opinion* Looking for drugs or different ones shouldn't be your first priority. I believe 95% of drugs merely counter symptoms not fix the problem. Although it is true that some of us are born with chemical imbalances or deficiencies. I wouldn't recommend shooting for the next best drug to cure your problems. In my opinion you'd do better off trying to find a way to help remedy these issues on your own or with the help or friends family or perhaps even a youth group. (We already know the answer we just have to be brave enough to ask the questions)"

Jes replied: "Well the adderall will help your add but its not approved to treat depression. Mention it to the doc and see if you can try it. They may try to stick you on Ritalin first because your only 17 and adderall is a nice high, so too many college drunks abused it and its hard to get prescribed. Size 8 isnt bluburry fyi, you will learn with age to rock that size 8 @ss and you will look damn sexy doin it!!!!"

Lila replied: "By your writing I can tell you are a very intelligent young woman. Psychiatrists don't prescribe Adderall or Ritalin for depression. There are antidepressants that don't cause weight gain. It is the antidepressants not the antipsychotics that cause weight gain. Unfortunaly it is not deliberate that most antidepressants cause weight gain it is just a part of their chemical composition. Nobody can recommend an antidepressant for you as some will work for one but not for another. Wellbutrin is one that decreases the appetite in a very safe way but it may not work for you. The best person to talk to about what antidepressants don't cause weight gain is your pharmacist. You definitely need a new psychiatrist who can take the time required to make a correct dosage and prescribe safe medications for you that is the key to your well being."

faulty_barbie_doll replied: "Firstly the paranoia etc does sound A LOT like a manic episode, and I live with them. Lithium rarely causes weight gain, but yes it does and yes it can be sorted out. A diet full of vegetables and fibre may help prevent weight gain. Seek help from a dietician. It is not uncommon for people to put on some weight when taking lithium. This may in part be because a common side-effect of lithium therapy is feeling thirsty, and drinking large amounts of high calorie drinks can cause people to put on weight. If this happens, try drinks which are low in calories e.g. low calorie squash or water, and cut down on sugar and milk in your tea and coffee. It is impossible to know what the effect on your weight may be because each person will be affected differently. It is important that you do not ignore feelings of thirst as this can lead to lithium poisoning. This is very important especially if you go on holiday to a hot country where you may be sweating heavily too (see side-effects above). If you do start to put on weight or have problems with your weight, your doctor can arrange for you to see a dietitian for advice. Any weight you put on can be controlled while you are still taking this medication, with expert advice about diet. In some people weight gain can be a serious problem. If it causes you distress make sure your doctor knows about this. A change in your dose may be necessary in extreme cases. Not concentrating is your problem, you choose to sit and talk instead of do your work, you choose to goof off on facebook and the internet, nobody sits you down with a gun to your head and makes you talk instead of work, or go on facebook instead of do your homework, no amount of drugs can change free will. If you've been diagnosed with ADD you should be taking ADD medication which will help with concentration levels, but ultimately you make the final choise. Absolutely not! It is very unwise and risky to stop taking lithium suddenly, even if you feel better. Recent studies have shown that if you are taking lithium for bipolar disorder and stop it suddenly (ie over 1 to 14 days) you have a 1 in 2 (50%) chance of becoming ill again within six months and a 90% chance of becoming ill again within 3 years. If you need to stop lithium, it should be gradually over at least four weeks, preferably longer i.e. 3-6 months The dose should be decreased gradually during this time to minimise possible problems. You've got a lot to lose if you stop lithium too quickly. Adderall is used primarily to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy, which are its only two approved indications for use in the United States. So unless you have ADHD or narcolepsy you won't be able to persuade anyone to give you adderall. I'm guessing the only reason you want adderall is for the weight loss side effect, not every side effect happens to every person, so you might not get the desired effect you want.. Adderall can't be used to treat depression, if you're still depressed TELL YOUR DOCTOR, not your psychiatrist your DOCTOR, they can change doses and medication and in my opinion should be the only ones prescribing medication of this sort. GO TO YOUR DOCTOR, GO TO A NUTRITIONIST and stop worrying about your weight so much, if your biggest problem is being a size 8 and not getting into a pair of jeans, then really adderall won't help you, cognitive behavioural therapy is going to be of more help, the fact that you're worried about your size and you're only a size 8 suggests that there is the start of an ED forming, so you need to see your doctor about that as well."

sweetguy452003 replied: "I have noticed how many drugs you have already been on, ask yourself have they helped without very many side effects. Perhaps some of the drugs you have been taking are causing some of these symptions you are having. Have you tried looking into natural herbs that would take care of your ailments, instead of pushing drugs into your system. Most drugs have many bad side effects. Many of these advertised drugs that these drug companies are advertising have very negative side effects that they don't even know about yet, and are using people as ginnie pigs . Have you ever noticed how many drugs are being pulled from the shelves because of deadly side effects. Look up herbs that heal there are many websites that will have a list of the herbs and their medicinal uses, for your body and see if there are any herbs that will match your symptoms, and before you take any herbs clean your body of these drugs by not taking the drugs for at least 2 weeks if you can, so they will not add additional problems to you. There are many herbs and roots that have great medicinal properties that main stream medicine don't push, because there isn't enough money in it for them to deal with. Many natural home remedies using herbs are very inexpensive and do work. You just need to find the right ones for you and how to prepare them so they will help with your ailments. Talk to your doctor and ask him or her if they know of a good Herbologist that they can recommend to help you with your ailments. Chances are though you Dr. will try to steer you away from Herbologists, because most Dr.'s in the U.S. are taught to push drugs. Dr.'s and the drug companies have an unholy alience and most Dr. 's wont look any farther than drugs to settle your ailments. Don't get me wrong , some medicines are good and do help, but most of the drugs have other chemicals in them that your body doesn't need, and therefore can give you negative side effects. Just try to keep an open mind, and explore all of your options. Good luck!"

Mia~ replied: "...just get some coke or crack if a doc won't give it to you, cuz he probably won't. It's the same thing, only easier to get.. Oh, and how can you say a size 8 is FAT? I'm a size 8, and I'm skinny. But I'm also 5'9"... ok, you're not fat, and get off the lithium, cuz it's just making you sick, and "fat". And adderall makes you lose weight, so you'll be skinny and have the official "SEXII" (which is in fact, spelled "SEXY") coke-head look."

jessica<3 replied: "First and foremost there is no coaxing a doctor in to prescribing any medication .. but it can be brought up for discussion. As someone said earlier adderall and adderall xr are use in the treatment for narcolepsy and add/hd but adderall dexedrine and ritalin are all commonly used as augmentation tools with antidepressants to treat chronic depression, treatment resistant depression and major depressive disorder .. they help to counter act the fatigue lack of motivation and help people with social anxiety the down fall for you though is that it is almost never prescribed in case where there is suspected bipolar because it can cause rapid cycling ... plus it sounds to me like you are simply drug seeking"

How long does it take trileptal to work? I've been on it for about 3.5 weeks, but I just started on the regular dose a week and a half ago. Is the time it takes based on how long I've been on the full dosage, or how long I've been taking it period? And at what point should I just go ahead and say "f-it, this isn't working!"? How will I know if it's working? You see, I'm concerned because (although I've been able to manage--if just barely--to stuff it down and hide it, with a few uncontrollable waves of tears and depression every so often), my suicidal thoughts have turned into suicidal urges, and I'm not so sure what to do about that. I'm worried. Where before, it was unlikely that I'd even consider something like that, it's now become a very real possibility. I'm OK now. I've dissociated, and it's as if it didn't happen. In a few days I'll be manic again. But if the depression comes back, I'm not sure what will happen to me...what I'll do, I mean. How will I know if it's working?

MATRIX replied: "Trileptal ( medically known as " Oxcarbazepine " ) is good for patients suffering from depression but is a very bad drug in the case of a patient getting the tendency to commit suicide. This medication will just make a patient get more and more suicidal ideas and urges. Your best choice to fight your depression starts with a good treatment plan which includes education about the illness, counselling or psychotherapy, stress reduction, good nutrition, regular sleep and exercise, and participation in a network of support. When all these treatments are of no use then that's when You turn to seek help with chemical medications. I recommend 3 mg of Paliperidone ( sold as " Invega " ) to be taken once every morning. So get an appointment from your Neurologist and once You go to visit him/her, discuss my suggested medicine. For now You should reduce your daily dose of Trileptal. Wishing You A Very Good Health !"

Does this sound like Bipolar? Since I was 9 years old I have been battling depression. I am now 20. When I was in school, I would start out with a bang, getting straight A's and generally doing very well for myself. Come summer time, I would become suicidally depressed. It's still like that now, only it's changed. I'm doing well in summer and having a hard time during winter. I've ended up in the mental hospital a few times. I don't rapidly change moods - well, not from ridiculously hyper and happy to sad, usually from extremely, violently angry to sad to the point where I start to cry and hyperventilate, shake, and spasm. Every time I see my therapist, she says I don't have bipolar because I don't have hyper manic episodes, but everything my doctor describes about bipolar matches what I go through sometimes. I'm so confused though, I've been on so many medications but nobody can really tell me what is going on and it's very frustrating. I was on Zoloft and Trileptal but now my doctor is weening me off both medications in favor of Lexapro, but it might be detrimental if I do have Bipolar. I guess what I am trying to ask is does it sound like I am Bipolar, and is there any kind of blood tests they can do to determine if I am Bipolar? If so, what are they called? It's been 11 years now of unsuccessful treatment, and I'm just looking for answers or anything that might help me solve my problem.

sunshine replied: "FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR, FAST!! You are bipolar or you have depression with bipolar tendancies. My daughter is bipolar and does the very same thing you are doing. She does not have manic highs and lows, but when she is having an episode she becomes violently angry, shakes, throws things and usually doesn't realize what she has done until it is over. If the medication you are taking is not helping there are other bipolar medications such as Abilify that can help. There isn't a drug test that can check for it, but the right doctor will be able to diagnose it. This is from a medical assistant and a mother of a bipolar child."

Karina replied: "If your doctor doesn't think you have bipolar probably you don't. Maybe you need to just find something worth sacrificing for."

Slunk Scene replied: "Unfortunately, there are no current biological tests that can prove if you have a psychiatric illness at this time. So blood tests would not be an effective way to test you for bipolar mania. I would not consider you as a bipolar manic because -- from what you described -- you do not express severe manic episodes. I would trust your doctor or psychologist on this advice because they are the ones extracting the diagnosis from the DSM. It is possible that you suffer from some sort of depression, and perhaps it's seasonal depression. Search your life for underlying causes to your depression, and maybe that will help you shed light on any questions you have about your sadness."

queenbeebeemarie replied: "No,Bipolar is a chemical problem in the brain,it is not something that would appear in a blood test. ,,20188907,00.html,,20188920,00.html,,20187828,00.html?pkw=PSHEYHTX050108SNND1656&partner=yes If you do not agree with your therapist and believe they are wrong then, maybe you should find another one and get a second opinion.Sometimes you and your therapist don't get along and you need to find another one.It is just like meeting someone you just can't get along with because your personalities clash and you just don't get along."

kitkatz70 replied: "You don't specify what causes the episodes of your depression. You say it is just winter time now, but has anything happened to cause it. You don't sound bi-polar to me. I can't stand Doctors who just start prescribing medicines without appropriate diagnosis. The medications you were on, Zoloft and Lexapro can actually cause more damage to one who isn't suffering from Bi-polarism than help. It sounds to me like you are just suffering from a bout here and there of depression. Where counseling and therapy can do a world of good. Once you start messing with mood altering drugs it can create more problems. Zoloft messes with the chemicals in the brain and if you don't need them can cause your brain to go into "confusion". I would seek another psychologist, and one who is less apt to prescribe meds."

Peter S replied: "I'd recommend you to watch following document about side effects of antidepressants like Zoloft. Psychiatrists don't always say all side effects and what they actually know. It's not an overstatement to say that it can save your life. "

How the hell can i persuade my new psychiatrist to put me on this miracle amphedamine drug? ohh... btw, i have NEVER been pregnant or anything. other girls at school eat soo much more than i do (and they eat gigantic bolognea sandwiches on white bread w/ 3 greasy cookies) while i am eating salad w/ fat free macrobiotic dressing covered w/ chickpeas.

grimmyTea replied: "Adderall is usually not used for depression. I have seen it used for very short periods to give an energy boost to depressed pts while waiting for their antidepressant meds to take effect (which can take a few weeks). This is usually only done in particular circumstances in which it is important to get the patient out of bed and moving (e.g., post-surgical recovery) and would not be something done routinely. How much do you exercise? When do you eat your meals?"

L to the Ill's mommy replied: "I really don't think you need methamphetamine Witch is what adderal is I think you need to talk to a therapist . I think you have weight issues but an amphetamine is NOt the answer .. adderall with defiantly exacerbate the tics it's a side effect !! nothing will CURE Depression you need to stay on your current medication and talk to someone about it .. it's sad that you think amphetamine is the answer to your problems .."

How will I know if it's working?

lisa1cares replied: "Several weeks are often required for oxcarbazepine (trileptal)to reach its maximum effectiveness; however, improvement in some symptoms may occur sooner. It is very important to tell your doctor how you feel things are going during the first few weeksafter you start taking oxcarbazepine. It will probably take several weeks to see enough changes in your symptoms to decide if oxcarbazepineis helpful for you. Mood stabilizer treatment is generally needed lifelong in persons with bipolar illness. Your doctor can best discuss the duration of treatment you need based on your symptoms and course of illness."
