Is the 'backup battery' in the IBM think Pad the same as a CMOS battery? My IBM thinkpad has a small round lithium battery that is easy to get to. The model is the a20m. Is this battery the same as the CMOS battery onmost deskto computer mother boards?
IBM ThinkPad T23 Battery Calibration? first off some specs, ive got an IBM T23 laptop computer (ok so technicaly its lenovo) 6-cell Lithium Ion battery manufactured by Sanyo. for the past hour my battery gauge has been showing 1% ive recently been on a re-conditioning rampage (3 times this month). because the battery that was designed to have a full charge capacity of 38.88 watt hours is now peaking at 12.3 Wh. would this mean by battery is mis-calibrated? if so how the hell do i get this thing to calibrate???
EDIT: this is not the original battery, BUT it is a direct factory replacement
also I have intentionaly turned off my Power management settings to reach a near full dischage...
the reasoning behind this question is because ive never in my right mind wanted or heard of fully discharging a lithium ion battery because of the negative effects it can have on the battery's performance but i was told by lenovo that it will help my battery immensely to FULLY discharge my lithium ion
IBM battery? I have an IBM Thinkpad T23
I recently bought a new battery off of ebay and it has taken 6 days to charge and it is still only at 86%. Does anyone know why?
Also when a battery is fully charged for this system what is the battery life? (6 cell lithium ion battery)

rafix6 replied: "The battery life depends on the system what you have on what you are doing, what is being used. For a 6 cell lithium ion I have seen battery life ranges from 1.5 hours- 4 hours depending on what a person is doing.
Any way is the battery new or used. If it is used than it is a damaged battery, and you should hunt down the seller if he mislead you into believing that it was in good shape.
If it is new than you should contact the manufacturer, because if it is new you definielty have a warranty."
