How long after I finish Accutane, can i do Microdermabrasion to reduce my scars? I finshed Accutane a month ago, when can i do Microdermabrasion?
Math Chick replied: "I've been on accutane for 7 weeks now, and after my first monthly checkup, my doctor recommended a microdermabrasion. I was confused because it said you shouldn't have any cosmetic procedures done while you're on accutane, but she said it doesn't matter. I trust her. I would get a chemical face peel every two weeks / one months before, and I think those are much better for getting rid of scars. Microdermabrasions are more for when your skin doesn't have an even texture. You can go already, if you want! Although.. when I started going to this spa, I had to fill out a bunch of papers asking about any other medicine I was on and accutane, which I wasn't using then. I think it's about six months if they won't let you, but my family doctor is also a dermatologist and she said she could perform it on me. This is getting lengthy."

Can I finish taking my accutane even if it has expired? I use to take accutane but then i had stopped and still have some boxes and would like to finish them, would it be ok to take them even though they are expired?

Accutane carries a horomone that equals out your skin. I used to take it. When this same situation happened to me, I called my doctor and asked her if I could continue taking the expired Accutane and she advised me against it."

First, they are not likely to be potent, second they could be unstable and cause you considerable problems. Throw away expired medications and see your doctor if you want to take them again."
is it normal to break out after finishing accutane? is it normal to break out after finishing accutane..i just finish my 6months 60dosage accutane and im now 4-6weeks without it. I seem to be getting weird small red bumps that is sumwhat slightly moving down to the chin area.

Can you use a face wash that exfoliates the skin 2 months after finishing accutane? is it ok to do this, because I know you shouldn't while taking accutane
Girlie xoxo replied: "Hmm...good question. I wouldn't use a face wash that exfoliates. They tend to be pretty harsh on skin and would be even worse on skin that underwent accutane treatment! Instead use a more gentle exfoliater A more natural one as well...baking soda. If you have any, rub honey on your face (honey is very moisturizing and will provide moisture to your dried out skin...I assume your skin is dried out due to the accutane) after you rinse it with water. It won't be sticky...don't worry! Then just rub a handful of baking soda on top of it. You'll feel the grittyness of it, but it won't hurt your sensitive skin. Just rinse it off with warm water and put your moisturizer on. You only need to do it once or twice a week. Just use your normal cleanser the rest of the week."
Why is my face SO DRY after Accutane? Hi. I just finished my 5 month supply of accutane about 6 days ago. All of the sudden my face is really dry (more than when i was on accutane) Is this bad or is it something that happens right after you finish accutane? Please Help!

ACCUTANE:If I don't finish my full 6 months, will I still see results? I've been on accutane for a little over 4 months now and I'm supposed to do 6 months. If I were to stop taking the accutane now would I still see results? Currently my skin is perfect.

-accutane is not always a permanent cure
-some patients have to take a second dosage after 6th months
-everybody's accutane experiences are different
I have a friend and her sister who both took accutane. My friend has been acne free for almost 2 years, her sister is beginning to have minor break outs. They give you 6 months, though your skin CAN be clear after the first month, so that the results will be long term.
I would highly recommend taking it for the full 6 months. Though there is no "correct" answer for your question, all information I have encountered says to go the full time for BEST results."
