Does the caffeine in green tea have negative effects on the liver? my boss is trying to give up coffee because of a genetic liver conditions

Dough replied: "no."

How does caffeine/alcohol affect liver function? I know the liver primarily detoxifies and I know alcohol consumption can worsen liver function. Does anyone know the mechanism behind this (as to why alcohol negatively effects liver function)? I was also wondering if caffeine improves or decreases liver function? I'm also wondering why foods that have alkalining effects improve liver function (i.e. Apple Cider Vinegar). I've been having skin problems of late and really am starting to attribute this to liver function. I guess is all 3 of these can't be answered, my main question would be: what is caffeine's effect on liver function? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

☺ I love Argentina ☺ replied: "I started having liver pain around 1 year after my gallbladder surgery. Everytime I drink coffee I get a stabbing pain in my liver. I stopped drinking coffee and the pain has reduced so far. So I honestly do believe caffeine can be harmfull to the liver. I do not drink any alcohol at all, but I do believe it causes a disease called cirrosis, which can be fatal, since there is no cure to it. The atributes of apple cider vinegar and apple juice it is helpful to the liver because it cleanses it. I read that it also helps clean any stones that can be caused by the consume of sodas, coffee, cocholate, etc. See I was right, I just found some info. Read this. "

I am on codeine for pain, does caffeine cancel it out? I had coffee this morning (about 6 hrs ago), and codeine every 4 hrs. The codeine effects are stronger now. Is the codeine building up or did the caffeine just wear off? (I know that codeine turns into morphine when it passes through the liver and caffeine cancels out morphine) Codeine is an opiate which IS in fact metabolized into 8-12% of morphine in that dose.

kay_flood replied: "that has got to be the biggest pile of hoo hah I've ever read. Caffiene potentiates pain meds, any pain med. The effect of the codiene got stronger because it builds up in the system, not because the caffiene you consumed wore off. And codiene, which comes from a derivative of cocaine, does NOT change magically into morphine during metabolism, two entirely different drugs."

Ridin the storm out replied: "Hey- I don't know where you got that idea, but, cancel THAT out. Caffiene has nothing to do with the codeine you are taking. Morphine doesn't turn into anything from this med. Here are some sites that will help educate you. Hope the pain gets less. Take care!"

iraq51 replied: "The majority of pain medications include caffeine in their formula because it does potentiate the action of the opiate. Caffeine does not cancel out an opiate...."

Is Hydroxycut caffeine free product safe for consumer consumption? I have read that many Hydroxycut products are being recalled because of health problems, such as liver damage, and other side effects, which occurred during around the same time the products were used.My question is whether Hydroxycut Caffeine Free, is safe for use? I was told it is not being recalled.

Shoeshine replied: "Uh no. What do you mean is it safe? Will it kill you on the spot? Probably not... will it kill you slowly, cause rapid aging, and probably cause organ failure in the future? Yeah. Why on earth would anybody think riding your body of water is harmless. Can you say ow my liver and kidneys? Everything you do kills you. Breathing slowly oxidizes your cells. We all die. You want to die more painfully, more rapidly, and become more impaired in your last years of life. Take more quick fix products. Safe is a joke... anything that you take into your body is going to interact with it, for every positive there is seriously a negative. You get skinny because you have no water in your body? Cool, you'll be skinny as you develop wrinkles and diseases, and you'll die faster and harder. What?..."

RITCHIE NUT HOUSE replied: "I WOULD NOT USE IT FOR A DIETARY SUPPLEMENT, TAKE VITAMINS.... I DONT REMEMBER CAFFEINE HAVING A EFFECT ON ME AT THAT AGE, NOW OMG 2 PILLS WOULD KEEP ME UP HALF THE NIGHT"

Any pointers/dos/donts/alternatives for staying awake welcome. thanks ahead of time

Looking for a "natural" Migraine relief? I get migraines every few months and it usually takes a couple days to get rid of it. I have popped Advil for so many years, and now I worry about the effect that will have on my liver. Does anyone know of any more "natural" relief ideas for getting rid of migraines? I've tried cola (caffeine), chocolate, and other caffeinated things. Any ideas? Thanks!

Nicki replied: "Advil is really good, yet, as with all painkillers, prolonged use will render them useless, except for liver failure! I have heard that if you slice a lime in half and rub the flesh on your forehead (not sure how long for though), this should clear up a headache or migraine :) Good luck :)"

Belle replied: "Try using Head On. You know, the one from the commercials. Apply directly to the forehead! It so does work. It's not medicated or anything so you don't have to worry about that."

Susan Yarrawonga replied: "Both apple cider vinegar and Coenzyme Q10 (taken every day) are supposed to prevent migraines."

diet pills dangerous? i think nots? why do so many people give diet pills such a bad rep? im using lipo 6 ephedra free now and have lost 6 pounds in 3 days not even at full dosage yet. Ive had NO adverse side effects. Ive had no wierd bowel movements. Yesterday i mowed mine and my neighbors yard pretty big ones too. AND i moved my sisters furniture from her storage space to a uhaul (over 2 tons of furniture) FELT GREAT at the end of the day. People yell its not a permanent way to lose weight! what is? surgery?im sure thats safer. im sure diets arent permanent The sad thing being overall is that i went to my local vitamin world and found 5 of the 6 ingriedients that are in my diet pills (besides cafeine which i found in a soda in my fridge) ive had no trimors nothing So my question to you all is lets keep in mind 2 cups of coffee contain the same amount of caffeine as a diet pill so 8 cups would equal your total dosage of pills per day including tea youde be even closer and dont forget caffeine helps ur liver!

lovin_temptation1 replied: "caffeine helps your liver yeah, and you do have your regular intake of caffeine in your coffee, and soda---so why would you raise your blood pressure more and take $30 dollar a bottle crap pills. It sounds like you are active enough, if you still aren't happy with your physical apperance to hit the weights"

qwq replied: "the diet pills usually works on the brain ,and/or sometimes on your digestive system. and you agree with me that you can't live on pills for all your life So i think the best way is to stop working on your nervous system ,and all the side effects on the blood and circulatory system, your digestive system ,and so on .... What you need is a balanced and healthy diet and continue your physical activity , and you will be healthy and nice"

Why we should Legalize Drugs ?Agree or Disagree and Why? *The narco-mafia stands to lose billions of dollars in annual revenues if the drugs are legalized in the US. *The pharmaceutical industry is to gain moderately, as a new market opens up. *The general population is to benefit in many ways: * crime reduction * increased tax revenues, as the sales of drugs will now be taxed * public health improvements, since... * the quality and chemical purity of drugs will be regulated by the FDA, while now it is at the mercy of your "trusted" local drug dealer * more research might be done about the side effects of the drugs and the reduction thereof (all narcotics have detrimental side effects: nicotine destroys the lungs, alcohol - the liver, marijuana - the reproductive system, caffeine - the heart etc). I said "might", not "will", because it does not look like that for the legal drugs, like caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. SGA : the policy will have Free Counseling for drug addicts and your pharmacist will be trusted , don't worry about that

Areja replied: "Sarah Palin will Legalize drugs. Vote McCain /Palin"

BEYOND the nokia_navyseals replied: "ALL drugs should be legal. Freedom of Choice is the American way. Who needs the government to be their nanny and do their thinking for them when it comes to drugs?"

Meg M replied: "Marijuana, at least, yes. The harm it causes does not warrant the resources we extend to fight it."
